Care - Home Facial Treatment
Microdermabrasion Facials
A facial is not
for everyone. You either love it or you don't. If
you love it, it is a form of ultimate pampering. A
facial treatment is basically a sauna for your face. Steam is used to
soften the skin and open pores so that dead cells and blackheads can
be easily removed.
Professional facials and facial skin care products can be pricey. If you're watching your cash,
try giving yourself a home facial. It is easy and the results are
just as satisfying.
Do It Yourself Home Facial.
Everything that you use
that touches your face should be;
A) Oil Free
B) Non-comedogenic (meaning it will not block pores)
C) Cleansers should be Oil Free, Non-comedogenic and Alfa and/or beta
Hydroxy acid based (in over the counter strengths only).
-
Wash face
with cleanser then exfoliate with a gentle home
microdermabrasion facial skin care product.
-
Take a
large pot of water. To make your facial treatment a little more
relaxing, try adding some lavender, rosemary
or eucalyptus. Cover and bring to a boil.
-
Remove
pot from heat and let stand for 5-10 minutes. Using a
towel to cover your head, hold your face
over the pot about 10 inches from the liquid so as not to burn
your skin and remain there for 5-10 minutes.
The smaller your pores the less time you will require in the
steam. Steam softens pores and makes it
easier to extract dirt and oil.
Suggestion;
We have found that a "slow-cooker" or "hot-pot" makes an excellent
facial steamer. Use distilled water and try the different
temperature settings to discover which is best for you. You
simply need to remember to turn it on about an hour and a half
before you plan to use it. a kitchen type timer is also
helpful to keep track of your time.
-
Wipe face
with a clean, warm washcloth.
-
If skin
is oily, apply a clay or mud mask according to directions.
Typical drying time is 5-10 minutes. For dry
skin, apply a moisturizing mask. If you have a
combination skin, such as an oily "T" zone
(forehead
and nose) and dry face, apply the moisturizing mask to
dry areas and the clay or mud mask to oily
areas.
-
Rinse
with cold water and apply a quality astringent like, RareMinerals Skin Revival
Treatment or similar.
A brief impromptu consultation at an up-scale beauty supply will
produce a wealth of information.
-
Moisturize with a high-end cell regenerative product with aloe vera. Again there are good ones out there. Simply ask a
knowledge person.
-
The skin around the eyes is thin and delicate. Use special
eye serums with a bit of soft massage
around the eyes.
